Local charities

There are many local charity ‘op shops’ on the Gold Coast that sell second-hand clothes and other items to raise funds for their charitable activities. Many accept clean, good quality items for resale and redistribution back to people in need.

The City supports these local charities by allowing the placement of charity bins at all of our waste and recycling centres for collection of reusable clothing and goods.

Op shops are a great place to pick up a bargain and do your bit to help close the recycling loop.

The Endeavour Foundation (who are already contracted to run the Molendinar Recycling Drop-off Centre) was successful in gaining the contract to run the new The Reedy Creek Recycle Market which opened on 7 May 2014. The Reedy Creek Recycle Market is the fourth local recycling shop that the City supplies with retrieved goods from our waste and recycling centres and landfills.
