Archaeology is a means by which development can proceed while, at the same time, creating an important record of what happened in the past.
Archaeology also informs future decision making by providing new information to help make better decisions.
The Office of City Architect provides technical expertise and local knowledge support to public archaeology projects carried out on the Gold Coast. These projects inform our local communities about the history of the places where they live.
We also offer opportunities for members of the public to participate in an archaeological dig.
