The Gold Coast community is made up of over 80,600 young people aged 15 to 24 years. The City works closely with private and public high schools and a youth network of more than 200 not-for-profit, voluntary, community and private organisations. We acknowledge the critical role these groups play in the lives of our young people.
From wellbeing advice, safety information and tips to general support, there are a number of resources available.
Junior Council is a student leadership and civic program for young people in grades 10 and 11 attending high school within the Gold Coast region.
The two-year program provides students with the opportunity to develop skills in communication, public speaking, leadership and to learn about local government and community issues.
The City's youth arts incubator program, Level Up, aims to engage emerging young artists transitioning from school, work or tertiary studies to a career in the creative industries sector on the Gold Coast.
It will provide a unique opportunity for emerging young artists to take their arts practice to the next level and be a part of the city’s vibrant cultural landscape.
Held in April each year, Queensland Youth Week is a week-long celebration of young people aged 12 to 25 and the positive contribution they make to our communities.
After school and school holiday programs operate from various City community centres. The programs incorporate a range of activities designed for young people between the ages of 12 and 17 years, and all activities are free.
