Mudgeeraba Old Post Office

Listed on the Gold Coast Local Heritage Register, Mudgeeraba Old Post Office was built in 1927. Once the Nerang Shire Council Chambers, it took on a new life in 1950 when a local resident bought the building and operated his post office and telephone exchange business until 1994. The Mudgeeraba Community Association led a local campaign to save the building, and with the support of local residents, the City of Gold Coast purchased the historic building for the benefit of the community.

Today, there are two small meeting rooms and a kitchen that are available for hire by the hour at very affordable rates.

How to hire a room

There are five easy steps to hire a room:

  1. Choose a room that suits your needs. The Community Centre hire information pack contains photos, floorplans and maximum capacities for each of the hireable spaces. The cost of hiring rooms is detailed in the Community Centres Fees and Charges document, both of which can be viewed or downloaded from our Community centre hire information page.

  4. Pay for your booking in advance. You’ll receive a Notice to Pay sent to the email address you provided on the Booking Enquiry Form. All bookings must be paid in advance. Details of payment and cancellation terms are outlined in the Conditions of Hire document.
  5. Attend an induction. All hirers are required to attend an induction. Inductions may vary from a simple Fire, Health and Safety introduction for the room you’ve hired, to a more complex induction including equipment use and licensing if you are holding a large scale event.
