Commencing: April 2020
Completion: November 2020
Cost: $1.6 million
The City is working closely with Queensland health and the Australian Federal Government to support our city in the response to and recovery from COVID-19. We’re committed to delivering essential services for our community and we continue to work on improvements for the city.
We will be undertaking maintenance works on the West Chevron Island Bridge on Thomas Drive over the Nerang River. The bridge will remain open at all times.
Works will primarily take place below the bridge deck and under water. Temporary speed and access restrictions for commercial and recreational marine vessels will apply. Signage will be in place to notify waterway users about the changed conditions. Vehicular, cyclist and pedestrian traffic will not be affected.
We are making considerable efforts to minimise disruptions. However, local residents may notice construction equipment, increased noise and temporary safety screens. Some construction activities will also occur in the adjacent Korman Family Park. Working hours will be from Monday to Friday between 7am and 6pm.
Upgrades and improvements (such as bridge widening, additional traffic lanes/walkways) are outside the scope of this maintenance project.
Thank you for your patience. For more information please call 1300 GOLDCOAST (1300 465 326).
