The Gold Coast has a proud history of hosting and promoting events. There are a range of organisations who are ready to assist you to make your event a success.

Tourism and Events Queensland's (TEQ) events support

TEQ invests in and/or supports events across three major program groups being:

  • Major Event Investment
  • Queensland Destination Events Program (QDEP)
  • Business Events

Destination Gold Coast (DGC) marketing support

DGC is the destination marketing body for the city and recognises the importance of events in driving visitation to the Gold Coast. DGC can assist with event marketing advice and in-kind marketing support.

Local Councillor support

The City’s Councillors are supportive of events that are designed to provide a benefit to the city and to the residents of their community.

Community Grants Program

The City's Community Grants Programs are designed to assist community organisations to deliver projects or events that benefit the residents of the Gold Coast and promote community outcomes. Community Grants are available via a number of different funding programs run on an annual basis, generally from 1 July. To be eligible to apply for a community grant, community organisations must be able to demonstrate that the project or event meets the objectives of the particular funding program and is aligned to the City's Vision, Gold Coast 2022.

Sport Attraction Program

The City has a focus on the attraction of state and national level sporting competitions.

Each specific opportunity will be evaluated based on the anticipated benefits to the city and must be aligned to the objectives of the Gold Coast Sport Plan 2013-2023.
